FxPro Swap & Overnight Fees | Jamaica 2026
A swap (or rollover) is the interest debited or credited when you hold a leveraged position overnight.
Open FxPro Account →Price one held position on both accounts and the overnight row is written twice with the same number. A swap, or rollover, is the interest paid or received for holding a leveraged position past the daily rollover; it is set per instrument and per direction, Wednesday nights are charged triple to cover the weekend, and no part of it references which of the two accounts holds the trade. The entry rows are the ones that differ - one wider spread against a narrower spread plus $3.50 per lot per side - and they are settled once, at the opening and the closing. The swap is quoted in a different unit entirely: money per lot per night, charged again at every rollover the position survives. Two units, two questions, and the answer to the account question is unaffected by the answer to this one. Read the exact long and short swap for your instrument in the platform before holding overnight.

What you are debited (−) or credited (+) per standard lot held past the daily rollover, measured on FxPro’s own MT5 Raw+ feed (with the raw points in brackets). A negative number costs you to hold; a positive one pays you. Triple swap is applied on Wednesday night to cover the weekend value date. Carry / yr is the annualised swap yield (swap × 365 ÷ notional at the live price) — a rough guide to what holding the position costs or earns over a year, shown where we have a live price. | XAU/USD (Gold) | $89.90 | $497.30 | $2,059.00 | −$5.00 | −$167.00 | −$788.00 |
Total net cost to hold one standard lot over time — the spread plus accumulated swap. A positive figure is what it costs you; a negative one means you come out ahead (positive carry). For example, holding EUR/USD long for a month costs about $276, while a EUR/USD short earns about $48. Based on measured spreads and current swaps — rates vary.
Swap at a glance
- Charged only on positions held past the daily rollover (around server 00:00)
- Rate depends on the instrument and whether you are long or short
- Triple swap on Wednesday nights (covers the weekend value date)
- Swap-free (Islamic) accounts hold no swap for eligible clients
- See the exact long and short swap per instrument inside your platform
Avoiding swaps
If you hold positions overnight regularly, a swap-free (Islamic) account may avoid swap interest for eligible clients. Check live swap rates inside your platform before holding overnight.
Open FxPro Account →The row that cancels out
Written across two columns, a held trade has an overnight row with the same number in both. The rate is set by the trading server per instrument and per direction, and nothing in it refers to how the entry was charged.
A term that appears identically on both sides of a subtraction drops out of it. Whatever the swap comes to over the life of the position, it moves both totals by the same amount and cannot change which of them is smaller.
Charged once, or charged every night
The two costs are quoted in different units, which is why they cannot be added into a single figure without an extra assumption. Commission is money per lot per side: it lands at the opening, lands again at the closing, and then stops. Swap is money per lot per night: it lands again at every rollover the position survives, with Wednesday carrying three nights at once.
Turning the second into a total requires choosing a number of nights, and that choice belongs to the trade rather than to the account. Kept apart, the entry difference stays a constant and the overnight figure stays a rate. The entry half of the same position is priced on our spreads and costs page.
What the swap-free variant does to the arithmetic
Eligible clients can use a swap-free (Islamic) account, which holds no overnight swap interest. In a two-column comparison that deletes one row from both columns at once, which is the definition of a change that cannot alter the difference between them.
The spread and the commission are untouched by it, so whichever account priced the entry lower before prices it lower after, by the same amount. Confirm eligibility with FxPro; the account that carries the commission row is described on our Raw+ account page.
Charged once, or charged every night
| Cost line | When it is charged | Depends on the account? |
|---|---|---|
| Spread | Inside the fill, at the opening and the closing | Yes - wider on Standard, narrower on Raw+ |
| Commission | At the opening and the closing | Yes - $3.50 per lot per side on Raw+, none on Standard |
| Overnight swap | At every daily rollover the position survives | No |
| Triple swap | At the Wednesday rollover, covering the weekend | No |
| Margin | Held for as long as the position is open | No |
The first two lines are settled once and then fixed; the next two are charged again for every night the trade lives. Only the first two carry a different value depending on the account.

What traders report
The two traders below both come out in favour, and that is worth flagging rather than hiding, because it is a small and one-sided sample. One held GBP/USD and EUR/USD shorts from November onwards and reports the overnight charge never became the reason to close; the other, a swing trader, says a swap-free Islamic account removed overnight interest for him. Nobody here is complaining about swaps, but nobody here is quoting a rate either.
FxPro doesn't charge high swap commissions. I've been holding short positions on gbpusd and eurusd since november.
I'm a swing trader, so for me the spreads is just nice and acceptable with 0 commission, they offer Islamic swap free.
